Privacy Policy

CarNotify (“we”) provides QR stickers and a web app so a passer-by can alert a vehicle owner without seeing the owner’s phone number or email.

What we collect

• Owners: name, email, phone, city, password hash, vehicle plate, nickname, documents you upload, plan and payment references.
• Scanners: the alert reason, optional note, and a temporary session id. We do not ask scanners to create an account. We may store IP address for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
• Technical logs needed to run the service (scan counts, delivery status).

Why we collect it

To create your account, activate a sticker, send parking alerts, process payments via Razorpay, prevent fraud, and support your tickets. We do not sell personal data.

What scanners cannot see

Public scan and alert APIs do not return the owner’s name, phone or email. Chat stays on that alert thread only.

Retention and deletion

Active accounts are kept while you use the service. If you ask us to delete your account, or if you remain deleted in the admin records, we deactivate vehicles and stickers and stop alerts. Payment records may be retained as required for tax and dispute handling. You can request deletion at the grievance contact below.

Processors

Hosting/database, Razorpay (payments), and Resend (email). They only receive what is needed to provide that function.

Email support@carnotify.in for access, correction or deletion requests. We aim to respond within a reasonable period.
